Notes:

It is characteristic of Lipchitz’s bronzes that the first cast of each edition was left unnumbered by the artist. This piece also does not bear the thumbprint which was typical of the casts that the artist i d at the Modern Art Foundry in the 2940’s and 50’s. Therefore, this example is assumed to have been cast in Europe in the early 1920s.
